Named #1 small economic development agency in Pennsylvania

The Butler County Commissioners released information about the Southwestern Pennsylvania Corporation (SPC’s) Covid-19 Hospitality Recovery Program (CHIRP) grants eligible for local business owners.

The CHIRP grant is specifically for businesses in the hospitality industry who meet certain qualifications and conditions. The minimum grant for eligible businesses is $5,000 and the maximum shall not exceed $50,000.

Online submissions for SPC’s CHIRP grant will be live on March 15, 2021 at 12:01am on their website, www.spcregion.org. Please note that funding for this program will remain available until each county’s allotment has been fully exhausted, or until June 15, 2021, whichever occurs first.

Hard copies of the application are available at the following locations and can be picked up during normal business hours:

  • Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau – 310 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063
  • Economic & Development Planning Office in the Butler County Courthouse – 124 West Diamond St., Butler, PA 16003
  • Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber – 2525 Rochester Rd. Ste. 200, Cranberry Twp. PA 16066

The organizations listed above will be able to scan in and submit the application for those without computer access.
