Butler Economic Development Corporation
The Butler Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit economic development corporation formed to construct speculative buildings made available at affordable rates to emerging businesses and non-profit organizations. BEDC locates projects in blighted and/or deteriorated areas typically rejected by private developers.
Projects
Dellwood Road Multi-Occupancy Spec Building
- In 2008, BEDC purchased a remediated brownfield site of 9.03 acres on which they constructed a multi-occupancy spec building. The project was funded in part by a $1,000,000 PA Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant. Property, for sale and/or lease, is represented by Colliers International
Victory Road Multi-Occupancy Spec Building
- In 2005, BEDC purchased 2.4 acres of land in Victory Road Business Park and constructed a 10,000 sq. ft. speculative building. The building was used as a processing facility by a farm cooperative for a short period of time. In 2009, the building was sold to a manufacturer of natural gas compressors.
Bantam Commons Condominium
Pullman Commerce Center
- In 2001, BEDC purchased two (2) lots in Pullman Business Park in order to seed the second phase of redevelopment of the former Pullman Standard Plant. BEDC constructed a 43,000 sq. ft. building on one lot while renovating and expanding an existing building on the second lot. The renovated building was divided and sold to three owners (Bantam Commons Condominium). The larger building, Pullman Commerce Center was sold to two owners.
